I'm a career library clerk. I didn't plan that, it just worked out that way. I know I've driven librarian friends crazy by not getting an MLS. But the reality is that I'm a frustrated artist. I just haven't figured out how to support myself that way, sooo, I'm a career library clerk.
A Dirty Job (another hilarious Christopher Moore story, this time about Death)
Blood Sucking Fiends (witty, modern vampire love story by Christopher Moore)
The Eyre Affair (first in the Thursday Next series)
Good Omens The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (by Pratchett & Gaiman)
My lifelong learning thoughts and contract
My goal is to learn everything that I'm being encouraged to learn during the 9 weeks.
The obstacles include my ADD (no, I'm NOT making excuses!), which means I take longer to absorb new information than some people. However, once I learn something, I know it very well, and can teach it to others.
My toolbox includes the speakers that were bought for the computer in the workroom (those earplugs were too short!), the computer itself, Google, and the library intranet.
My resources include the weekly exercises, the task force that was put together to implement this learning process, and also the more tech savvy of my coworkers, who are happy to help me out.
My path to the goal is to tackle at least one of the exercises each week, and make sure I master it.
I'll obviously be checking in to the program at least once a week, though with my learning style it will be more effective if I practice more than once each week, work flow permitting.
